In late June 2025, heavy rainfall caused severe flooding across several districts in South Sulawesi, displacing thousands of families and destroying homes, farmland, and infrastructure. Beacon Community Care's disaster response team was among the first organizations on the ground.
Immediate Response
Within 48 hours of the flooding, our rapid response team was deployed to the hardest-hit areas. Working alongside local authorities and other aid organizations, we focused on providing immediate relief to the most vulnerable families.
What We Provided

Ongoing Recovery
While the immediate crisis has stabilized, the recovery process will take months. Many families lost everything — their homes, their crops, their livelihoods. Our team remains in the region, working on longer-term recovery efforts including home rebuilding, livelihood restoration, and community infrastructure repair.
We lost our home and our rice field, but the support from BCC gave us hope that we can rebuild. They were here when we needed them most. — Pak Ahmad, flood survivor
